This view is from State Hwy 87 looking west. Cheyenne Mountain is distinctive because of the antennas at it's summit which are not military related.	Another view from July 2003 taken slightly further south.


This view from the southern end looking north from a campground was taken in 2001.	This view was also taken in 2001. As you can see, on the drive up there are very little in the way of trees. It is mostly scrub brush. You climb quite high in elevation and have quite the view of Colorado Springs and beyond to the east. You can see part of a guard rail on the switchback road in the lower right third of the picture.	This is a zoomed in view of the area where the tunnel entrance is. There is a guard gate long before you reach this point where you must stop and state your business and show ID. All vehicles of base personnel both civilian owned and military require identifying stickers to be displayed on the windshields. This is true of all military areas now. Even before 9/11 you were not allowed any further than the gate if you did not belong there officially.
