Last weekend we went to the Overland Park, KS Arboretum. Quite the beautiful place. They had 3 different fairly good sized waterfalls and this is the first one. It’s a 2.5 second shot to get the water to look as it does. I also used a neutral density filter to be able to do the long exposure.

We finally had a beautiful sunset in late April. This was on April 28. The sky was glowing red quite nicely.

Well, the sun finally came out this afternoon. Not much rain out of all that but several days with no sunshine. At least it’s warmer. This is another view of the small waterfall in Carlisle, PA that I got in late March. A long exposure shot to give the water a silky appearance.

I haven’t had one of these to share for a while. This is a lovely sunrise I saw one morning on my way to work. I think this was the day before it snowed in late April! What wacky weather we have been having.

This is another barn that I saw in Pennsylvania that I thought was pretty interesting.  I love the style with those thin windows that are kind of shuttered over. This is a single shot that I processed as an HDR photo.

Happy Tax Day! Hope you got them in. I took this shot at sunset in early April as I was heading off Konza Prairie one evening after a meeting. I like how the deer were silhouetted on the hill as the sky was getting a bit of color to it.

This is the sky I was talking about when I posted the one a while back that was more blue/purple. As the time went on it kept getting more orange till it looked like this. Was quite nice to see. We are actually getting some rain at the moment. Only short bursts but better than nothing.

I have been enjoying processing railroad shots in black and white lately. It gives them a nice old time feel. I have a new B&W processing program that really does a nice job of converting them and can give them different looks. This one was a straight conversion as the original worked well for that. This is the Cumbres and Toltec railroad double heading out of Chama, New Mexico and headed back to Antonito, Colorado.

This is a shot of an old barn in Pennsylvania. I love the style of the barns out there, I believe they have a Dutch influence on them. I processed this in my HDR program even though it was a single shot.
