This is another barn that I saw in Pennsylvania that I thought was pretty interesting. I love the style with those thin windows that are kind of shuttered over. This is a single shot that I processed as an HDR photo.

This is a shot of an old barn in Pennsylvania. I love the style of the barns out there, I believe they have a Dutch influence on them. I processed this in my HDR program even though it was a single shot.

We went to a state park today. It was called Pine Grove Furnace State Park in Pennsylvania an old iron works area. This is a photo of one of the furnaces that still stands where they smelted iron. The Appalachian Trail goes through this park and we actually hiked about 500 yards of it.

Well we got a decent amount of snow, 8 inches, but definitely not the storm of the century they were predicting. It did get me a 4 day weekend though so woohoo on that! This is a photo I took back in January with a snow we had then. I went out and took some shots yesterday but haven’t processed them yet. This is an old shed on our property and I thought it made a lovely snowy scene.

I don’t usually share my black and white work here but I really liked how this one turned out so thought I would. This is a monochrome version of the Glade Creek Grist Mill in Babcock State Park in West Virginia. We were there on the 4th of July this past summer.

This is something a bit different. I was doing a photography project this past year and for some of it was rural scenes. This was one I captured in late afternoon light that I liked with the barn color against the winter wheat and sky. It has a bit of HDR effect applied to it as well to bring things out more. This was taken on December 1.

I’m up in Minnesota for just a few days at a conference for work. Heading back today so posting early. This is a shot I got of downtown Minneapolis last night as were heading in for dinner. I was stuck in traffic at the time. I liked the way the sunlight was hitting the buildings.

When we were in West Virginia we went to Babcock State Park. They have a restored grist Mill there called the Glade Creek Grist mill. It’s made up of, I believe, 3 old ones from around the area that were torn down for one reason or another. It was a very lovely and picturesque place.

This is an HDR photo of a really neat barn I saw in the area of Pennsylvania near Ricketts Glen State Park. It was the fanciest barn I had ever seen so I just had to get a photo of it.
